Jamaica 2013

The first time I've left the country (does Canada actually count??) -
We came to Jamaica for the Redfield Wedding

Here we go!

Our room :)

We stopped by the "sports bar" for dinner.

This soda is AMAZING!  :)

First day!

There are little 'shacks' like this along the roads.
This one was selling cold beer! :)

Danielle and I went zip lining.  It was the most
incredible experience!

This was the break area.  Here they chopped into
coconuts, we ate the meat of the coconut, drank the
coconut water (which, by the way, is WAY better fresh
than when you buy it in the containers in the store) and
we also had fresh pineapple to munch on.  It was great!

Here we are on the jungle bridge :)

I think this little buddy got lost... He was by the pool

This was our last night in Montego Bay

The last day on the resort.  It was a very beautiful place.

This was the Indian restaurant on site.  It was delicious.

The driving in Jamaica is very scary... And on the
way to the airport we were involved in a weed drop.
Seriously.

But don't worry!  We're fine!
And we saw the world's second largest KFC!

Little did we know that leaving Montego Bay was going to be the beginning of one of the worst travel experiences I've ever experienced. We left Jamaica and landed in Miami, went through customs and began our wait.  We waited and waited, they didn't want to bring us to Chicago because of storms, but then we left the airport very lated, landed at O'Hare super late in the middle of a serious lightning storm.  The force at which we hit the runway was unreal.  We then had to sleep in the airport overnight, the airline refusing to comp us rooms as weather is "an act of god."  We barely slept that night and then found that since we were not booked for that flight that we might not even get home that night.  Thankfully we were able to get on the flight back to Fargo, but only because other flights were delayed which caused other people to miss their flight to Fargo.

All in all it was an amazing trip filled with amazing friends, food and memories.
